Dreaming Of A Brand New Bedroom? Ideas For You!

The bedroom.

Made for fun, for relaxing, sleeping, inspiration… And so much more. At the end of the day though, aside from being functional, it helps if the bedroom is calming and cozy too. It can feel like a daunting task though, something that might cost thousands of dollars that you just don’t want to spend right now (or ever). So what can you do to give yourself the bedroom of dreams without the nightmare price tag?

Art

Hanging art on your walls is one of the quickest ways to spruce a space up without too much effort. A great tip is to hand it behind things like lamps or other decorative items. It adds layers and interest with pretty much no interior design qualifications or even an eye for great design. If you pick a print or painting that you love, you can pull some of the colors and use them as inspiration for the rest of the room. Think bold and beautiful.

Move

No, not house, but the furniture. Moving the furniture around will give a fresh feel to the room. No purchase required here. You might find that you love it better and that you have more space or storage. Try and break some rules if you can. Try your bed in front of a window, or use a dresser as a nightstand. Experiment and see what you like.

Clean

Unsurprisingly a deep clean can work wonders on a place. Get the dust and grime from all of the corners, deep clean the rugs, and curtains. Clean the mirror. Get rid of things that either don’t serve a purpose or that you no longer wear or use. After all, they are taking up precious real estate in a room you want to change. If you need inspo, watch Marie Kondo work her magic and get started.

New Textiles

Cushions, curtains and new bedding can make a room almost unrecognizable. Western style bedding can give a relaxed rustic feel. Faux fur covers and maybe a few wooden pieces would tie the look together. Because bedding and curtains take up so much space, changing them will have a significant impact on the room. Have fun with new patterns.

Freshen Up

Putting a new coat of paint on the walls will immediately make them look cleaner and brighter.

Floor

If you have a carpet, but don’t love the color – it might be time for a rug. Rugs can cover a multitude of sins, and a snip of the price of redoing the whole floor. Think about the textures that you like the most when it comes to your feet. Some rugs look stunning but feel terrible to walk on. Others look fluffy and beautiful until it comes time to clean them.

Extras

Candles with unusual candle holders and plants all add something eye-catching to look at. They don’t take up much room, so they are ideal for those who struggle for bedroom space. Aside from that candles smell tremendous and plants look gorgeous.
