How To Sneak An Extra Bedroom Into The Home

When it comes to creating the home of your dreams, it’s highly likely that you have an idea image in your mind of what that looks like.

And how you want it to be decorated. And what style of home you want. There’s going to be a lot of things that you know you want. However, when it comes to actually getting the house of your dreams together, you may find that you can’t always get everything that you want.

Because maybe there isn’t a style of house you like nearby. Or you don’t have the budget. Or the right place just hasn’t come up for sale. But all this means is that you just need to learn to work with what you’ve got. One of the issues that you may find, is space. But when you’re clever, you can make it work. Yes, and this does mean that you can work in an extra bedroom. And here’s how.

In The Attic

First of all, there’s the attic to consider. And for this, you’re going to want to get the professionals in. Depending on what you want to do here, you may need a roofer and a builder along with the electrical and plumbing trade specialists. But the best thing to do is speak to the experts and see what could be done, and then look to get some plans drawn up.

Splitting Two Rooms

Another really simple thing to do here, is to split a very large room that you have into two bedrooms. And if you know that you still have enough space to put everything into each room, then this is definitely going to be a winning option for you.

In The Garage

And then, another option is to convert the garage. If you know that you really don’t use it for anything, then it’s silly to just leave it like that. Instead, you could have it insulated and converted into another living space, and this could even become a great master suite for you too.

Above The Garage

But then also, the next space to think about here, is above the garage too. Because it’s not just converting the garage. If you know that you actually need that space for storage, then the next thing you could look to do is actually build above the garage and get the extra space in that way. You’ll just want to make sure that this is full insulated before you use it as a bedroom.

Extending

And then finally, you’ve then also got the idea of extending your home altogether. Because if you would actually love to get more space for the rest of the home, an extension is a good idea. So if you are on the lookout for that dream house of yours and one place isn’t quite right but it has potential, then you could also look into plans for extending so that you can get the house of your dreams and not just an extra bedroom.
