Put A New Spin On Your Kitchen

If you think your kitchen is outdated, then it might be time to put a new spin on it!

It doesn’t take much to liven up the space, and you don’t even need to do a full scale renovation. Of course, a renovation is a good idea, but it can be expensive and a hassle. With a full reno, you’ll find it difficult to do even the simplest of tasks in the kitchen. But instead of dwelling on the negatives, let’s talk about the positives: you can do a mini reno without causing yourself too much stress, but still getting the results you’re looking for! A new spin on your kitchen is exciting and lasts for years. Here are some easy ways to get started.

Spin #1: A New Design

A new design is the goal of your kitchen update, so let’s start with it first. If we’re talking about a new design, we’ll have to consider going modern. Though modern appliances and cabinets take a full renovation, it is one of the most effective ways to implement a new design. A modern kitchen will stay in style for many years. It is filled with the latest tech, fresh surfaces, and easy-to-use tools. With this, you can have appliances built into the cabinetry to avoid a clunky look that older kitchens tend to have.

For quicker, less expensive design changes, update your walls and flooring. A fresh coat of paint will make a world of difference. And if your cabinets are a little cringe-worthy, consider repainting them as well. Also, consider smaller renovations such as adding a kitchen bar and stools. They add a nice touch of a modern design while giving you a multi-use space.

Spin #2: Cut Some Costs

A renovation is expensive, so if you decide to do one, you should look to cut costs as much as possible. One less expensive update is new flooring. A vinyl floorboard collection will open your eyes to new possibilities! Tiles are expensive, but vinyl flooring looks just as good as long as it is properly installed.

Spin #3: Keep It Fresh

It’s easy for a kitchen to become hot and clammy from so much cooking and a lack of functional windows. Try to keep things as bright and fresh as possible. The best way of doing this is to keep the walls and cabinets white (cream or other light neutrals work well too). When the sun is shining, the kitchen will be filled with so much light. But when it isn’t sunny, the white walls and cabinets will help your kitchen lighting keep things bright. (Tip: Pair the whites and neutrals with a bold accent color for small appliances, dishes, or towels. Yellow, orange, or lime green will make your space pop!)
