No Bake Cookie Recipe

(This post contains affiliate links to products I use and love.)

No bakes are literally my favorite cookies, and I have an awesome no bake cookie recipe.

I have to brag for a second: my no bakes are the best. They’re the perfect blend of cocoa and peanut butter, and are delicious with a glass of milk. I can’t take all the credit though; my recipe was given to me by my mom, who I believe got it from her mom. While I understand keeping family recipes in the family, this one is way too good not to share. Plus, the holidays are fast approaching, so what better time to try a new cookie recipe?

Check out my recipe below. Try it for yourself and let me know how they turned out!

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk (I use 2%)
1/2 c. shortening (Crisco is best)
1/2 c. smooth peanut butter
1/4 c. cocoa powder
3 c. oats (I like the size/texture of Quaker Oats Old Fashioned Oatmeal!)

Measure peanut butter, cocoa, and oats and set to side. Then place a large sheet of wax paper out on counter for cookies to set on.

In large pan, mix sugar, milk, and shortening. Cook on med-high, stirring regularly. Once full boil is reached, allow to boil for exactly 1 minute. (This is important, otherwise they don’t set up properly!) Stir occasionally while boiling. Once mixture has boiled for 1 minute, remove from heat and quickly mix in remaining ingredients. Scoop mixture out onto wax paper and allow to set for 1 hour before consumption. Makes between 2-3 dozen cookies.
