10 blogs you should follow when it comes to home decor

I love seeing new projects and ideas for home decor.

And I’m sure you love it too, right? While there’s a ton of stuff on Pinterest – a lot of it being posts of the same designs – it’s really hard to sort through the crap and find the good stuff. So I did some digging and found the good stuff for you. Here’s the top 10 blogs you should be following right now for home decor inspiration in 2017.

Apartment Therapy

The first email I check in my inbox every morning is from Apartment Therapy. Their weekly newsletter is the best way to catch up on what’s going on in the design community. If you don’t already follow them, I strongly recommend it. They even have multiple style quizzes available for you to help you define your taste.

Homey Oh My

If you love minimalism and elegance, Amy is a must-follow. Her Scandinavian designs are so crisp and clean-cut, mixed with just the right amount of greenery. She shares new posts almost daily, so there is always more to read and new ideas! Plus, a little birdie told me she’s doing a blog theme giveaway with Blogzilla right now. (But hurry, it ends in a few days!)

The Inspired Room

Join Melissa as she carries on with her remodeling journey! You can tour the houses she has made into homes here. Each house its own unique style and vibe. My favorite is hands down the Craftsman House. Between the exterior design, the one-of-a-kind map walls, and the open shelving, it was a no-brainer. Check out the tours of her other homes on her blog and let me know which one is your favorite!

The Jungalow

If plants meets bohemian style are your thing, Justina is the girl for you. A visit to her blog is like a step into the jungle – green everywhere. Check out her jungle-themed decor and lively style. Make sure to read her post about the top trend for 2017 while you’re there! Hint: it’s all jungalicious. (;

My Sweet Savannah

And let’s not forget about Melaine’s old fashioned home design. She takes black & white color schemes to a whole new level with her mixture of cream hues. Her cowhide rugs also add some character to the house, giving it a country vibe.

Emily A Clark

The thing I love most about her home featured in Better Homes and Garden Refresh? Patterns. If you check out Emily’s photo gallery here, you’ll see what I mean. Patterned pillows, patterned throws, patterned knobs – it’s all there. And somehow she makes multiple patterns work together. Don’t even get me started on how obsessed I am with the library. Books everywhere. Love it.

The Makerista

This week Gwen shared her sunroom/nursery and I cannot express in words how much I adore this space. The colors, the striped walls, the furniture – it’s all so perfect. If I was in need of a nursery, I would definitely be stealing some of her ideas! And the rest of her home is equally as gorgeous. Check it out if you don’t believe me.

A Beautiful Mess

Elsie and Emma are two very talented sisters who have designs to die for. Right now Elsie is starting a book wall and it’s going to be the coolest thing. I live for the day that I am able to implement an entire wall of built-in shelving just for books in my home. They have some really awesome simple DIY decor projects worth looking into!

Miss Mustard Seed

Marian’s style is infused with rustic country design. If a country style home is what you dream of, her blog is a definite source of inspiration you should look at. I personally love the various sitting chairs throughout her home. They bring a cozy feeling to each room, but also stand out as accent pieces.

Style by Emily Henderson

You’ve probably seen her on HGTV – she was a Design Star winner – and you probably have seen her hit show, Secrets from a Stylist. But have you ever actually taken a look at her blog? It is filled with tons of inspiration for your next decor project! Her blog is basically an endless knowledgebase for home decor. If you haven’t followed her already, do it. You won’t regret it.

What other blogs do you follow for your own inspiration? Let me know in the comments so I can give them a follow!
